Wear and Fit

These earphones have a surprisingly small compact shell for a 9 driver per side IEM, so it has no problem accommodating a wide range of ear shapes and sizes. The package includes balanced ear tips in three sizes (small, medium, large) and a pair of medium-sized T-ear tips. The ear tips play a crucial role in achieving optimal sound isolation and comfort, ensuring that the listening experience is immersive and enjoyable so better toss the stock tips and upgrade to Divinus Velvets, or tang sancai wide bores.

During my testing, I found the TRN VX Pro+ to be exceptionally comfortable. The earphones fit snugly without causing any discomfort, even during long listening sessions. This is a significant advantage for those who wear earphones for extended periods, as the design minimizes pressure points and ensures a secure fit.

High-Rigidity Beryllium Diaphragm
At the heart of the TRN VX Pro+'s impressive sound quality is its high-strength, high-rigidity beryllium-plated diaphragm unit. This material choice allows for fast and accurate vibrations in response to audio signals, resulting in precise sound reproduction. When listening to delicate bass lines or transient treble notes, the beryllium diaphragm ensures that the dynamic range of the sound field is expansive and adaptable to various genres of music.

1DD+8BA Configuration
One of the standout features of the TRN VX Pro+ is its hybrid driver configuration, which includes a total of 18 drivers on both sides. This setup comprises a 10mm dual magnetic circuit dynamic driver with a beryllium diaphragm and eight independently customized Balanced Armature (BA) drivers. This combination is designed to deliver high resolution, precise details, and excellent transient response, enhancing the layering and three-dimensionality of the music.

Dynamic Range:
The VX Pro+ boasts an expansive dynamic range, with its multiple drivers working seamlessly together. The overall balance is close to neutral-bright, with no noticeable bias towards specific frequencies. The sound is cohesive and well-harmonized, delivering a balanced listening experience.

Bass
The 10mm dual magnetic circuit dynamic driver in the TRN VX Pro+ is responsible for delivering smooth and balanced controlled bass. During my testing, I found the bass to be natural and stable, it reproduces excellent amount of low frequency specially on deep basslines or acoustic tracks with subtle low-end details, the TRN VX Pro+ handles the bass with finesse, ensuring that it never becomes overwhelming or muddy.

Midrange
The midrange frequencies are handled by four independently customized 50060 mid-frequency Balanced Armature drivers. These drivers excel at accurately presenting the details of the human voice, making vocals sound clear and lifelike. During my listening sessions, I was particularly impressed with how well the TRN VX Pro+ handled vocal-heavy tracks. The midrange was rich and detailed, allowing me to hear the variations and emotions in the singer's voice.

High-Frequency
For high frequencies, the TRN VX Pro+ employs four independently customized 30095 high-frequency Balanced Armature drivers. These drivers deliver sharp and bright high-frequency performance and on some tracks can be too energetic. The treble is crisp and clear, adding a sense of airiness and sparkle to the music. And when you're listening to classical music with intricate high notes or modern pop tracks with bright synthesizers, the TRN VX Pro+ ensures that the high frequencies are presented with clarity and precision.

Technicalities
The VX Pro+ excels in technical performance, with a spacious, wide and deep soundstage. The imaging is accurate and vivid, with great spatial positioning and a holographic presentation. Speed-wise, the VX Pro+ handles complex and fast-paced tracks with ease, maintaining clarity and avoiding congestion.

Real-World Listening Experience

To truly understand the capabilities of the TRN VX Pro+, I put them through their paces with a diverse range of music genres, including classical, jazz, rock, electronic, and pop. Here's a breakdown of my listening experience:

1. Classical Music: The TRN VX Pro+ excelled with orchestral pieces, providing a wide soundstage and excellent instrument separation. The strings and woodwinds were rendered with a natural timbre, while the bass provided a solid lowend thump without bleeding over to the other frequencies. clasical music specially on live orchestras is what i think the VX PRO+ really shines and shows it excellent technical chops.

2. Jazz: Listening to jazz tracks, the midrange clarity of the TRN VX Pro+ was particularly impressive. Saxophones and trumpets sounded rich and full, while the subtle details of the double bass and percussion were clearly audible and detailed with good layering and texture.

3. Rock: The energetic and dynamic nature of rock music was well-represented by the TRN VX Pro+. The bass was punchy, while the guitars and vocals remained clear and detailed even during complex arrangements and has no problem keeping with the faster tracks but not the most natural organic sounding specially on vocals and guitar riffs.

4. Electronic: For electronic music, the TRN VX Pro+ delivered tight and controlled bass, making the beats feel impactful in every slam without being overpowering. The high-frequency details added a sense of excitement and energy to the tracks.

5. Pop: In pop music, the TRN VX Pro+ showcased its versatility by handling both bass-heavy tracks and vocal-centric songs with equal finesse. The vocals were prominent and clear, while the bass provided a rhythmic backbone that kept the music engaging.

Heartfield R1 Review: Sonic Bliss, Feature Miss The Heartfield R1 is a simple, straightforward DAC amp that stands out for its analog warmth and impressive sound performance, but it comes with its share of quirks. At $150, it's positioned as a premium dongle, but does it offer enough value to justify the price? Whats in the box : Design and Features First off, let's dive into the physical design—minimalist is the perfect description. The Heartfield R1 embraces a vintage vibe with its analog volume potentiometer, which adds a tactile charm to the experience. What’s great is that it avoids the usual annoyance of volume channel imbalance, something I often notice at lower volume levels with my other amps that uses analog pots. Here, you get precise, smooth volume control, which will please those who love fine-tuning their sound. However, feature-wise, it’s pretty barebones. It doesn’t support high-res audio beyond 16-bit, which feels limiting for a device in this price range. Al
